Getting your Stars out: rewards, withdrawal and holds
What it is
Stars your channel, bot or group earns aren't cash. Fragment exchanges them for a reward in Gram, the TON blockchain's coin, or you spend them on Telegram Ads for the same channel or bot. Telegram's terms value a Star at 0.013 USD as a reward, 0.02 USD as ad credit. New Stars wait 21 days first.
How to do it
- Open the balance. Channel: channel info › Balance (or Statistics ›… Open the balance. Channel: channel info › Balance (or Statistics › Monetization) on iOS and Android, Channel Info › ⋮ › Monetization on Desktop. Bot: bot profile › Edit › Balance on iOS and Android, Bot Info › ⋮ › Manage Bot › Balance on Desktop. Group: its profile.
- Only the Available balance can go out: Stars join it 21 days after you earn them.
- Tap Withdraw via Fragment (in some apps just Withdraw) and enter the amount.
- Enter your two-step verification password.
- On the Fragment page, give your TON wallet address; the reward arrives in Gram.
- To advertise instead, tap Buy Ads.
Watch out
- Minimum withdrawal: 1,000 Stars.
- Only the owner can withdraw.
- Withdrawals are final: a wrong wallet address loses the money.
- Earned Stars expire after 3 years.
- After refunds, chargebacks or rule breaks, Telegram can hold back or take Stars.
- Fragment may not pay out in some countries; taxes are yours.
- Lose your account and you lose its balance.
With Gem
Stars from your channel or your own bot stay there, and you withdraw them there. For what Gem sells for you, Sell shows the ledger: gross, Gem's share, refunds and what is yours; payouts are by hand for now.
