Keep notes and files in Saved Messages (and tags)
What it is
Saved Messages is your private cloud chat with yourself: forward anything there to bookmark it, or write notes and drop in files and links. It's on all your devices, and each forwarded message keeps a way back to its original chat.
How to do it
- Open Saved Messages from your chat list; on iOS it's also in Settings.
- To save a message, long-press it (right-click on Desktop) › Forward… To save a message, long-press it (right-click on Desktop) › Forward (Desktop: Forward Message) › Saved Messages, always at the top of the list.

- For a reminder, hold the Send button in Saved Messages › Set a Reminder. A notification arrives at that time.
Watch out
- Each file can be up to 2 GB, or 4 GB with Premium.
- Tags need Premium. In View as Chats you can pin 5 chats without it.
- It's a cloud chat, stored encrypted on Telegram's servers; only Secret Chats are end-to-end.
- If you don't come online for 18 months (the default), your account deletes itself along with everything in the cloud, Saved Messages included.
With Gem
Gem can't open or sort your Saved Messages. Nearby: tell @gembot what to remember or when to remind you, and the notes and reminders stay in its chat.
