Make a start page and links to your chat
What it is
The start page is what a new customer sees in an empty chat with you: a short title, a message and a sticker, to welcome people or show what you offer. A link to chat opens a chat with you and pastes a message you prepared, like "I'd like to book a table". Put links on your site, in posts or in a QR code on a menu; each shows how many times it was tapped. Both need Premium, but people who tap a link don't.
How to do it
- Open Settings › Telegram Business › Start Page.
- Fill in Enter Title and Enter Message, and pick a sticker.
- Go back, open Links to Chat and tap Create a Link to Chat.
- Type the message the link should paste, and name the link, like Website or Menu QR.
- Copy the link, which looks like `t.me/m/...`, and put it where your customers are.
- Come back to Links to Chat to see how many times each link was tapped.
Watch out
- The title fits 32 characters, the message 70.
- Only people who have never chatted with you see the start page.
- You can keep up to 100 active links.
- A link only pastes the text: the customer decides whether to send it.
- The counter counts taps, not messages sent.
With Gem
Gem doesn't edit your start page or make Telegram links to chat. Nearby: your project has its own addresses, `gem.bot/<name>`, `gem.bot/@<your username>` and the Mini App `t.me/gembot?startapp=<name>`, and in /dashboard, Funnel and sources shows where people come from.
