Paid posts and paid subscriptions in channels
What it is
A channel earns Stars three ways. A paid post hides photos or videos until a subscriber pays to unlock them. A paid invite link charges a monthly fee to join. Star reactions let readers send Stars to a post; the owner gets 100%. Everything goes to the channel's balance.
How to do it
- Paid post: select photos or videos to send in the channel, then on iOS tap ⋯ ›… Paid post: select photos or videos to send in the channel, then on iOS tap ⋯ › Make This Content Paid, on Android ⋮ › Make this content paid, on Desktop right-click Send › Make This Content Paid. Set the price and send.
- Paid subscription: Channel Settings › Channel Type › Manage Invite Links ›… Paid subscription: Channel Settings › Channel Type › Manage Invite Links › Create a New Link, turn on Require Monthly Fee, set Stars per month. On Desktop: Channel Info › ⋮ › Manage Channel › Invite links › Create a New Link.
- Star reactions: Channel Settings › Reactions › Enable Paid Reactions. On Desktop: Manage Channel › Reactions.
- Share the link; subscriptions renew monthly from subscribers' Stars.
Watch out
- Paid posts are for eligible channels and cost 1 to 25,000 Stars; subscriptions 1 to 10,000 Stars a month.
- A monthly-fee link can't require admin approval.
- Paid links suit private channels: public ones are free to join.
- Buyers keep a paid post even if you delete it or the channel, or remove them.
- Telegram tries to block saving and screenshots but can't stop every copy.
With Gem
Gem doesn't sell paid posts or subscriptions for you yet. It runs the free side: posts translated for each language's channel, scheduled and pinned everywhere, and join requests approved by your rules and language.
