Posting: silent, scheduled, pinned and edited posts
What it is
Every post notifies your subscribers. A silent post notifies them without sound, which suits late-night or minor news. A scheduled post goes out by itself at the time you set. Pinned posts sit in a banner at the top of the channel. You can edit a channel post however long ago it went out, and delete any post for everyone.
How to do it
- Write the post, then press and hold Send (right-click it on Desktop).
- Choose Send Without Sound, or Schedule Message and set the date and time. With… Choose Send Without Sound, or Schedule Message and set the date and time. With Telegram Premium, Repeat resends it daily, weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, every 3 or 6 months, or yearly.
- Queued posts wait in Scheduled Messages, where you can Send Now, Reschedule or edit them.
- Press and hold a post (tap it on Android, right-click it on Desktop) › Pin. Unpin All Messages clears the banner.
- The same menu › Edit changes a post, which then carries an "edited" label.
Watch out
- You can't schedule more than 100 messages.
- Repeat works for a single message, not for an album.
- Photos sent together form one album and trigger a single notification.
- To pin in a channel, an admin needs the Edit Messages of Others right.
With Gem
Write a post once in @gembot: Gem translates it for each language's channel and publishes it now or at a time you say in words. You can pin, rewrite or delete it in every channel at once, and Gem can draft a weekly post from your knowledge for you to approve. Gem doesn't send silent posts; send those in Telegram.
