Reactions, polls and channel statistics (who can see what)
What it is
Reactions are one-tap emoji under a post; polls let subscribers vote or take a quiz. Statistics show how many people join, leave and mute the channel, their languages, how they found you and how each post performs. Everyone sees view and reaction counts, but reactions and poll votes in a channel are anonymous. Only the owner and admins see the subscriber list; statistics are for the owner and admins with the Post Messages right.
How to do it
- Reactions: channel profile › Edit (iOS), pencil icon (Android) or … › Manage… Reactions: channel profile › Edit (iOS), pencil icon (Android) or … › Manage Channel (Desktop) › Reactions. Turn on Enable Reactions and pick the emoji; Enable Paid Reactions lets people react with Stars.
- Polls: attachment button › Poll. Set Correct Answer makes a quiz, Hide Results… Polls: attachment button › Poll. Set Correct Answer makes a quiz, Hide Results hides them until the poll closes, and Restrict to Subscribers lets only people subscribed 24+ hours vote.
- Channel statistics: channel profile › More (iOS) or ⋮ (Android) › Statistics; Desktop: … › Statistics.
- One post: press and hold it (tap it on Android) › View Statistics.
Watch out
- Statistics appear only after a channel passes a subscriber threshold that Telegram sets on its servers.
- View counts are approximate and include forwarded copies; after about 4 days the same person can be counted again.
- Each boost level adds one custom emoji reaction.
- Stars from paid reactions go to the channel's balance; such posts show a leaderboard of top senders, who can opt out.
With Gem
Gem can't show Telegram's channel statistics: bots can't read them. It counts reactions on each post it publishes and shows them in /dashboard. Gem doesn't make polls; for feedback, a project can run the Feedback app.
