Sell for Stars
What it is
Telegram requires Stars, its in-app currency, for digital goods and services sold in bots and Mini Apps, and Gem sells for you this way. Describe an offer in words: Gem writes it in each project language and reviews it before it sells. Digital and legal offers pass; physical goods, adult content, gambling, and financial or medical promises don't. People pay in Stars in your project's Mini App, in the Offers block.
How to do it
- Send /myprojects, pick the project, tap Sell, then + New offer.
- Describe the offer in words, with its price: "Supporter for 1 Star: a Supporter badge and a thank-you".
- Gem puts the offer on sale, or tells you why it didn't pass the review.
- A buyer taps the price in the Offers block and pays in Stars. They get the… A buyer taps the price in the Offers block and pays in Stars. They get the badge and the thank-you once; you hear about each sale in @gembot.
- Tap Sales and refunds for the last sales. Refund returns the Stars and removes the badge.
- Sell keeps the ledger: gross, Gem's share, refunds and yours. Take off sale… Sell keeps the ledger: gross, Gem's share, refunds and yours. Take off sale pauses an offer; Put on sale brings it back.
Watch out
- A sale counts once, even if Telegram sends the same payment update twice.
- Gem keeps a share, shown in Sell. Payouts are by hand for now.
- Short names for your page, 6 letters and shorter, are bought with Stars too, once: type one when Gem offers names or after Rename.
With Gem
