Share photos and videos well: albums, spoilers and live photos
What it is
Photos and videos sent together arrive as one album with one notification. You can hide any under a spoiler, send photos in HD or keep the original. Since March 2026, iPhone Live Photos and Android Motion Photos play in every Telegram app.
How to do it
- Tap the attachment button and select photos or videos; numbers show their order.
- To hide one, tap ⋯ (iOS) or ⋮ (Android) › Hide With Spoiler.
- For sharper photos (4 times the pixels), tap SD in the editor to make it HD, or choose Send in High Quality.
- For a moving photo, tap Live at the top of the editor and pick Live (plays once), Loop or Bounce.
- To keep the original, choose Send without compression on Android, or attach the photo as a File.
- For a caption on top, press and hold Send › Move Caption Up.
- In a 1-on-1 chat, tap the view-once icon in the editor and choose from View Once up to 30 seconds.
- In a channel, ⋯ in the video editor › Edit Cover sets a video's cover.
Watch out
- An album holds up to 10 items; documents and audio files group only with their own type.
- Each file can be up to 2 GB, or 4 GB with Premium.
- Captions fit 1,024 characters, or 4,096 with Premium.
- View-once media can't be saved or screenshotted and is deleted once opened.
With Gem
A Gem post is text or a photo with a caption: Gem translates the caption for each language's channel and publishes it now or at a time you say in words. Albums, videos and spoilers go through Telegram itself.
