Translate, fix and rewrite text with Telegram's built-in tools
What it is
Telegram translates messages right in the chat, and since March 2026 its AI editor fixes grammar, rewrites your text in another style or translates it before you send. Both run on Cocoon, Telegram's decentralized AI network.
How to do it
- Turn on Settings › Language › Show Translate Button. Under Do Not Translate, tick the languages you read.
- Long-press a message (right-click on Desktop) › Translate.
- With Premium, turn on Translate Entire Chats in the same menu: a… With Premium, turn on Translate Entire Chats in the same menu: a translation bar appears at the top of chats in other languages.

- Your own style: in the editor's Style tab tap Create, write a prompt, then share the style by link.
Watch out
- The Ai icon shows up only after more than three lines.
- Single messages translate for everyone; whole chats need Premium. Channel owners can switch on auto-translation for all readers, who tap the bar at the top to see the original.
- The rich text editor (headings, tables, up to 32,768 characters per message), with its own AI tools, is Premium-only for now.
- Telegram's FAQ says its AI features, translation included, send no data to third parties; AI bots made by others have their own privacy policies.
With Gem
Gem doesn't edit your personal messages. In a project, Gem writes a post once and translates it for each language, and the landing page `gem.bot/<name>` comes in each language too.
