Turn your account into a business account
What it is
Telegram Business turns your own account into a place to serve customers. People write to you in an ordinary private chat, and you get tools for it: opening hours and location, quick replies, greeting and away messages, a start page, links to chat, tags for chats and a bot that answers for you. No coding needed. For now, all of it comes free with Telegram Premium; since May 2026, connecting a bot works without Premium too.
How to do it
- Get Premium in Settings › Telegram Premium (App Store or Google Play) or with @PremiumBot.
- Open Settings › Telegram Business.
- Start with Location and Opening Hours: that's what customers look for first.
- Add Quick Replies, Greeting Messages and Away Messages.
- Set up Start Page and Links to Chat.
- For a bot, open Settings › Chat Automation (before May 2026: Settings › Telegram Business › Chatbots).
- Sort customers in Settings › Chat Folders and show the folders as tags.
Watch out
- There's no separate business profile: customers see your own name and photo.
- Quick replies, greetings and away messages work only in private chats, not in groups.
- Without Premium, only the connected bot is left.
- Automatic messages reach friends, family and staff too, unless you leave them out.
With Gem
Gem doesn't switch on Telegram Business for you. Nearby: send /newproject to @gembot, describe your business in one sentence, and get a landing page `gem.bot/<name>` in each language with search data (your place and opening hours), the project's Mini App `t.me/gembot?startapp=<name>` and a short address `gem.bot/@<your username>`.
